Dehydration and Dog Booties

Our days amongst civilization are numbered and we are certainly keeping busy packing, repacking, unpacking, packing again, planning, and crossing last minute preparations off our list! We purchased a food dehydrator, which will pay for itself when we’re eating warm home cooked meals in the woods after a hard day of hiking. It is quite time consuming, but the both of us love to cook and have enjoyed preparing food for the months the come. Almost anything can be dehydrated – and we have a good supply of pasta dishes, and hearty Minnesota ‘hotdishes’ to look forward to receiving in our resupply boxes. Once we’re on the trail, dinner will be as simple as boiling some hot water on our lightweight and compact stove, cutting open the vacuum sealed goodness, and re-hydrating dinner.
